If you need just open Project file, you do not need to install any software. Just go on http://www.amiproject.com and open it in browser.
You can also share your Project file with people who do not have Microsoft Project installed. Just upload it on http://www.amiproject.com and click File/Share to get a short link you can share.

This may not work for projects that have proprietary information. The company I work for has non-disclosure agreements with everyone under the sun. I feel much more comfortable opening them on my computer alone using an application. Thanks for doing this OpenTube!

Here’s a Project Viewer that is the best. I use ValleySpeak Project Server http://www.valleyspeak.com

This allows me to continue using Microsoft Project as my project management tool of choice, while give my team members a easy browser access to publish, execute and control projects in real time.

Hmm. The website says this product is only free fro 30 days…

MOOS Project Viewer appears to be commercial now with 30 days trial. I’ve used OpenProj in the past that is actually a full MS project-compatible editor, but I’ve run into compatibility issues with it. Also, OpenProj has not been updated since 2008. I’ve found free RationalPlan Viewer http://www.rationalplan.com/download.php and will use it for the time being.

Apparently MOOS keeps a free “Project Viewer Light” at http://www.free-project-viewer.com/.

Incidently I couldn’t install it on a Debian 6 machine but could just be an occasional issue and I didn’t retry.
